DAY 6 - Date 11th April 2020

“Mindfulness & Gratitude” With Teacher Michael Stavrinides.

“We are all in a great time of change, the direction each of us take will assist in which way it changes.”

The way we perceive and experience the world is largely down to our thoughts, beliefs and expectations. This is also true of how we live our lives; an untrained, unaware mind can easily create fear, stress and negative feelings in the blink of an eye.

Being grateful and living a life of gratitude is not about seeing the world through rose coloured glasses, or positive thinking, it is acknowledging with clarity what is good in our lives while we still have it, most find it very easy to acknowledge how wonderful someone or something was after it is gone.

The key to happiness is to acknowledge these wonderful people and things in our lives in the present moment, while we still have them and while they are still here with us.

Being aware of these people and things, and recognizing how blessed we are to have them in our lives, helps us to live and experience and see things very differently. In time it creates a ripple effect, we notice our thoughts and beliefs changing in a more positive way, we become more balanced and happier.

A person who flutters around from thought to thought is generally not in a grateful state.

Cultivating gratitude is the secret to happiness.

We all have many things to be grateful for

Most of us focus on the things we don’t have, rather than be grateful for the things we have.

Gratitude is a wonderful vibration to live in.

So, you maybe asking yourself, “How Do I Start?”

Keeping a daily gratitude journal is a great way to start

Your Daily Gratitude Journal

1. Use a small pocket size diary, note book or your mobile phone.

2. Keep it with you wherever you go, and each day on a new page, at the top of the page write the date.

3. Throughout the day, write in it at least 3 things you are grateful for that day. It could be something like “I am grateful for my healthy mind and body” or “I am grateful to have a warm meal to eat and a home to live in” or “I am grateful for the help a stranger gave me when they helped me pick up all my shopping when I dropped them” or “I am grateful for my wonderful, supportive family”

4. Throughout the day, when thinking of things, you are grateful for, you will be focusing on positivity thoughts, situations and events and vibrating higher.

(Here’s a useful tip. Use your time productively.)

Example: while waiting in line in a supermarket, or waiting for a late client to arrive etc… use this spare time to think about the grateful things you what to write in your gratitude journal. This will also help you stay balanced and become less stressed and stop your mind creating negative thoughts while waiting.)

5. Each night before bed time, read the things you wrote that day in your gratitude journal, it will bring back all the beautiful, grateful emotions you felt when you wrote them down, and it will most likely help you to sleep.

A very enjoyable thing you can do at anytime which will lift your spirits and make you smile, is to look back through the pages of your gratitude journal and reread past daily things that you were grateful for. It will fill your heart and fill you with gratitude.
